Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2021-2027
The Interreg Atlantic Area Programme is a European transnational cooperation initiative that supports collaboration among the Atlantic regions of Portugal, Spain, France and Ireland. Its mission is to strengthen cooperation across borders, address shared territorial challenges, and promote sustainable, resilient and innovative development throughout the Atlantic Area.
The Programme encourages joint solutions, knowledge exchange and coordinated actions that benefit the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the Atlantic regions.

Aims to protect natural resources, promote circularity, improve resource efficiency and foster environmentally sustainable approaches across the Atlantic regions.

SMART4SEA is funded under Priority 2 – Blue/Green Environment
Specific Objective RSO2.6 – Promoting the transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy.
This objective supports initiatives that accelerate circularity in blue-economy sectors, reduce environmental impacts, improve resource efficiency and foster more sustainable production and consumption models across the Atlantic Area.
SMART4SEA directly contributes to this objective by advancing digital traceability, environmental transparency and circular economy practices in the Atlantic seafood value chain.
